This past weekend the hubs and I celebrated two whole years of marriage bliss! We decided to do something that we both enjoy, but have never done together in our 10 year relationship…we went camping! The hubs is an Eagle Scout, and honestly could rival MacGyver with his handiness. In a former life I was a summer camp counselor. Sounds like the perfect combination for an unplugged weekend in the wilderness, right?
We booked a campsite in Kelleys Island State Park, packed up our gear, said some prayers for nice weather, headed just a tad west and took the Ferry to Kelleys Island. Having never been to KI before, neither of us knew what to expect.
The weekend truly exceeded our expectations, and we had a total blast! It was so wonderful to just spend time with one another, unplugged, free of distractions, just us being us. Looks like the Stouts will be getting in touch with our inner outdoorsman/outdoorswoman more often, and perhaps may be a new tradition to celebrate our Anniversary!
Do you do anything special to celebrate an anniversary?
