So I haven’t done a Flavor of the Week post in a loooooooong time. I want to reinstate those moving forward.
Now I don’t discuss my career too much on this blog, but before I recommend this week’s flavor, I just want to let y’all know that I am a Health and Wellness professional. I work as a Health and Wellness Coach, in a nutshell I help my clients work on goal-setting in terms of creating lifestyle changes in order to improve their health. I have my Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and I am a ACSM Certified Personal Trainer so my recommendation is completely credible and legit.
Shoookay.
I found this little gem of a website while researching strength training exercises that I could e-mail to a client who did not have access to a gym and didn’t have much home equipment.
The American College of Exercise has an exercise library that is extremely user-friendly. You can search for exercises based on three components: the body part you would like to focus on, experience level and equipment.
Once you complete a search, exercises that fall under your search criteria show up in an alphabetized list. Scroll through the list and find an exercise that intrigues you and click on the blue ‘view details’ button that is featured on the right side of the screen corresponding to the exercise of your choice.
The details section includes steps on how to properly perform the exercises as well as photos and an animated motion section to show what the exercise sequence would look like.
I think this is a fabulous resource and just wanted to share in case any of you are feeling like you are in a fitness rut, or would just like to jazz things up a bit!
