Normally I dread the taper because of the drastic decrease in exercise; I LOVE to workout! But for once I am embracing it with open arms, well, almost. I have started experiencing some of the strange things that come with the taper: phantom pains, mood swings, self-doubt, and just feeling all-around exhausted. My poor husband. But I know my body needs and deserves the break and the rest. Truth be told, I am tired folks. Really, REALLY tired. I felt so stale and achy on all of my runs this week except for my Yasso 800′s. The long run today was so BLAH. There is really no other way to describe it. But I know I have never trained this hard for the 26.2 distance. I need to continue to remind myself of all the effort I have put into this, all the quality workouts, and do my best not to let the taper demons get the best of me. For the next two weeks I am going to scale down on my mileage and cross-training, stretch a ton, and foam roll, foam roll, foam roll. Oh, and ice. A LOT.
15 days. 15 DAYS! Oh my goodness. I really can NOT flippin’ wait! AHHHHH!!!!

You are SO close!
