Another week of training in the books! This week started out strong, but by my speedworkout on Friday, I was fried. Due to the awesome Northeast Ohio weather, I had no choice but to do my speedworkout indoors. I started out feeling great but by my 5th 800, I crashed and burned, and my splits were getting significantly slower each attempt. I started feeling a little light-headed and funny, and decided to just throw in the towel. I went home, had a snack, and decided to finish up my mileage for the day with just an easy run. Turns out I developed an ear infection by Saturday. I seriously get at least one ear infection during each training cycle. Be jealous. I took Saturday off completely and was feeling better this morning for my long run. I was in Columbus visiting my mom, and decided to scoot over to one of my favorite metroparks, Sharon Woods. This park contains a hilly 3.8 mile loop. I decided to do 6 laps which would give me 22.8 miles. I originally only had 22 miles on the schedule, but I have a strange love of full numbers, and decided to grunt out an extra 0.2 to make it an even 23 miles. The loop contains two substantial hills, which was a great opportunity to work on running up and down hills, in prep for Boston’s not so flat terrain. I completed the run in 3:13:19, resulting in an overall pace of 8:24 per mile. I threw in a few miles in the 7:30-7:45 range when I randomly ran into my great buddy Nate! I was so excited to see him, I didn’t even realize my increase in speed. It was so wonderful to see a familiar face, and to catch up with one another. He is running Boston too, along with some of our other running buddies! I am so excited to share this experience with them, I could just burst!
All and all, I am very pleased with my long run today, especially with how I managed the 12 hills I tackled!
36 days! 36 days! 36 days! Until all of my hard work and training is put to the test in one of the greatest foot races to ever exist!

Another awesome week! Go Molly!
